Bio
I am an American in Paris, whose profession and passion revolve around the use of New Technologies and Social Media to improve the quality of life.
I manage an eHealth, eMarketing consultancy in Paris, am a frequent bilingual public speaker and blogger/writer on Health 2.0. I wrote the first eHealth publication for the European Commission, called the Case for eHealth. I also created an association in France for the Quality of Health on the Internet. The association organizes informational meetings for professionals and patients.
In April 2010, my company co-organized the Health 2.0 Europe conference in Paris, featuring speakers from 13 countries. This year's event to take place in Paris June 2011, is entitled Doctors 2.0 & You.
Do I think I have something to contribute to the Mayo Clinic's Social Media Center?
Well, yes ! I bring a unique transatlantic perspective on social media in healthcare, having worked on both the European and American sides of social media questions. I even organize bilingual tweet-ups! Try it some time!
I also bring a historical perspective, not just because I've been working a long time but thanks to having been a member of numerous working groups around the world regarding the quality of information on the web, as for example, the now defunct Internet HealthCare Coalition and its Code of ethics, the EC Brussels workshop on Quality of Health on the Internet (2002), AFGIS in Germany, MedCertain in Germany, various French groups....
I aspire to be open-minded, innovative, and understanding.
And last but not least, being involved in many conferences around Europe, I bring the opportunity to spread the word about Mayo Clinic social media center in Europe and beyond.
